Session 2 Invitation

Opening:

  • Welcome back to our Bible study, brothers and sisters. It is so happy to see so many of you coming back. God bless your seeking hearts! Today marks the 2nd day of our 8-day Bible study series, and today we are going to learn about how God will do the work of judgment when He returns. 🖼️ Our greatest hope after believing in the Lord for so many years is to be able to enter the kingdom of heaven and be with the Lord, right? But in the Bible, the Lord Jesus said:
📖 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
  • So why can’t every believer enter God’s kingdom? What are God’s requirements for entering His kingdom? These questions determine whether a person goes to heaven or hell. I hope all of you can stay until the end as we go through this very important topic.

Prayer

  • Let's begin with an opening prayer:
GIVE YOUR OWN PRAYER

Lord Jesus, we thank You for gathering us together for the second day of our Bible study, and we ask that Your Holy Spirit guide our hearts and minds today. As we explore Your Word and take a hard look at what it truly means to do Your will and enter Your kingdom, we pray for open hearts and spiritual understanding. Strip away any distractions or complacency, and reveal Your truth to us so that our faith may be genuine and pleasing to You. We commit this time entirely to Your hands, praying that everything shared today brings glory to Your name. In the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Review of Two Ways

  • Let’s start by reviewing what we learned last time. Brothers and sisters, according to Bible prophecy, how will the Lord return in the last days?
❓Question: In which way will the Lord return?

A. Come upon the clouds publicly ☁️.
B. Secretly return in spirit🌃 .
C. First, He will return in the flesh as a person a second time 🧑. Then, He will come on the clouds ☁️ in public.
D. I’m not sure 😕
✅The correct answer is C.
  • 🖼️ The Lord’s second coming is a process with two steps. First, He will return in the flesh as a person. Then He will appear publicly on a white cloud. Let’s read where it says this in the Bible.

The Lord Jesus told us:

📖 "For the Son of Man cometh at an hour when you think not." (Luke 12:40)
  • When you call someone the "Son of Man," what are you calling them—a person or a spirit? 🖼️ It refers to a person of flesh and blood.

    • “Son of Man” means someone born of mankind. It refers to a person with flesh and blood—someone who has a physical body. Spiritual beings, like angels, cannot be called the Son of Man. When the Lord appears on a cloud, He is in His spiritual body, so He would not be called the Son of Man.
    • Therefore, when the Lord Jesus spoke of “the Son of Man coming” and “the coming of the Son of Man,” He was referring to His return in the flesh, coming again as a human being.
  • When Christ returns as a person, will it be obvious? Will everyone recognize Him? No. Just like when the Lord Jesus first came, there was nothing special about His appearance—no halo, no shining light, and no instant recognition. That is why the Lord's second coming in the flesh will also be quiet and secret.

  • 🖼️ The Lord Jesus said:
📖 “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15)
  • A thief doesn’t announce his arrival or make noise ahead of time; When a thief comes, most people don’t notice. In the same way, this verse shows that the Lord will return in the flesh quietly and secretly.
  • So how do we recognize the Lord Jesus when He returns as a person? The Lord Jesus said:
📖 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
  • 🖼️ This means we must recognize the Lord Jesus by His voice—by the truth He speaks and teaches. Christ becoming flesh is the Word becoming flesh. Therefore, to recognize Him in the flesh is to recognize His words.
  • Hearing the Lord’s voice means we cannot rely on our physical eyes to recognize who He is. This shows us that we should not simply wait to see Jesus coming on a cloud; instead, it tells us to listen carefully to His words when He returns in the flesh. Only those who listen to His voice and accept the truth will be able to recognize and welcome Him.

  • 🖼️ When we put all these prophecies together—“coming like a thief,” “hearing His voice,” and “coming as the Son of Man”—we can see that the Lord Jesus will return as a person a second time before the great tribulation. Then, after the tribulation, He will appear openly on a cloud for everyone to see. 🖼️
📌 Before the disasters: He comes in secret in the flesh, to make a group of overcomers—this is the salvation stage.
📌 After the disasters: He publicly descends on a cloud in a spiritual body to reward the good and punish the evil—this is the punishment stage.

Judgment must begin at the house of God:

  • Some people ask, "Why can't the Lord simply take us directly into the kingdom of heaven? Why become flesh again?" Well, when the Lord returns, He actually has a new stage of work to do.
❓Do you know what work is prophesied over 200 times in the Bible?
  • The work of judgment. It's mentioned over 200 times, and it's directly tied to us entering the kingdom of heaven. Let's look at a few Bible verses:
📖 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17).
📖 “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son…. And has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man” (John 5:22-27).
📖 “And if any man hears My words, and believes not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and accepts not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47-48).
📖 “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13).
📖 “For He comes to judge the earth: with righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with justice” (Psalm 98:9).
  • So, the Lord Jesus prophesied He'd return as the Son of man in the last days to express the truth and do the work of judgment.
❓But is judgment work just for nonbelievers?
  • Look at the verse: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). So, ask yourself:
❓who lives in God's house? Believers or nonbelievers?
  • Obviously, believers. “Judgment must begin at the house of God.” So, judgment starts with believers, not nonbelievers.

  • Now, some people might be confused: "Our sins are already forgiven. When the Lord returns, He should take us directly into the kingdom of heaven. Why does judgment have to begin at the house of God? Why do we believers have to go through the work of judgment?"

  • This is a critical issue. It's directly tied to our salvation and entering the kingdom of heaven! If we don't understand the significance of God's work of judgment, we'll miss our chance to welcome the Lord and be caught up. So, let's dive right in.

Conditions for entering the kingdom of heaven

  • To understand why God does the work of judgment, we first need to know exactly who can enter the kingdom of heaven. Some people say, "Our sins are forgiven, so we can go in. As long as we read the Bible, pray, and do good deeds, the Lord will take us into the kingdom of heaven when He returns." But is that correct? To get in, we first need to know the conditions.
❓Who gets to decide this? Just anyone?
  • No, only the Lord Jesus has the final say. He holds the keys to the kingdom; His words are the truth, the way, and the life. So, let's see what the Lord Jesus said about who can actually enter the kingdom of heaven. Here’s the key point. Are you with me? Can you follow along?
📖 The Lord Jesus said: “Not every one that said to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that follows the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and in Your name have cast out devils, and in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23).

📖 The Lord Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the son stays ever” (John 8:34-35).
  • Based on the Lord's words, not everyone who believes and keeps the Lord Jesus' name can enter the kingdom of heaven. Who can? “He that follows the will of My Father which is in heaven.”
  • And what does doing the heavenly Father's will actually mean? The Lord Jesus said: “Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the son stays ever.” Do you see? Only those who completely break free from sin can .
📌 So, doing the heavenly Father's will means stop sinning, stop opposing God, and putting the Lord's words into practice.
  • Let's look at two more verses:
📖 “You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:45).

📖 “Without holiness no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

  • Did you notice the keyword in those two verses? Holy. So, to enter the kingdom of heaven, you've got to achieve holiness. You have to break free from sin and be completely cleansed. That's the only standard to get in.

  • Let's sum up the standard for entering the kingdom of heaven: 🖼️

📌 stop sinning
📌 achieve holiness
📌 live according to God's words
📌 completely submit to God
❓ So, are we holy right now? Do we meet that standard?

  • Let's take an honest look at ourselves. Aren't we all still committing these sins to some degree? 🖼️
    • The Lord teaches us to be honest, but don't we still often lie just to save face or out of vanity?
    • He teaches us to be tolerant and patient, but when things don't go our way, don't we still lose our temper?
    • When we see others doing better than us, don't we still get jealous?
    • How many people go to church just to get grace and blessings, but don't care at all about the Lord's teachings, and fail to practice His words?
  • In fact, many people admit that we still commit these sins. We fight for fame and gain, argue out of jealousy, follow evil trends, and worship money and status. On top of that, we attack and judge people, we lie... the list goes on. Every single one of us is stuck in this cycle of sinning and confessing.
  • We lie during the day, then pray and confess at night, promising we'll never do it again. But the very next day, or the day after that, we just can't help ourselves—we end up telling even more lies. On top of that, we still resist God. When things are peaceful, we're quick to praise the Lord with our lips. But the moment disaster strikes, we start complaining. When God does something that doesn't line up with our own ideas, we doubt Him, distance ourselves from Him, and even condemn Him. Aren't we just betraying and resisting God?
  • Even though our sins are forgiven, we're still filthy and corrupt. In terms of our corrupt essence, we're still completely hostile to God.
  • So, having our sins forgiven doesn't mean we have stopped sinning. It doesn't mean we're holy, it doesn't mean we can submit to God, and it definitely doesn't mean we can follow God's will.
❓We've believed in the Lord for years, but we're still stuck in this cycle of sinning and confessing. Can we enter God's kingdom now?

  • 🖼️ Obviously not. We live in sin, enjoying the pleasures of sin, yet we still expect to be taken up into the kingdom of heaven. Aren't we just daydreaming?
  • God is holy. How could He allow filthy people into His kingdom? So, no matter how many years we've believed in the Lord, as long as we're still living in sin, we're not qualified to enter the kingdom of heaven. That's for sure. It's completely determined by God's righteous disposition and His holy essence.
Q. Since We have believed in the Lord Jesus for years and our sins are forgiven. Are we qualified to directly enter God's kingdom❓

A. No, because we can still sin and haven't achieved holiness.
B. Yes, because our sins are forgiven, we can directly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
✅ Correct Answer: A. No, because we can still sin and haven't achieved holiness.
  • Now, some of you might feel a bit discouraged, thinking, "If no one is holy, does that mean no one can enter the kingdom of heaven?" But don't worry. Entering the kingdom of heaven is God's promise. Since God said, “You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:45), there's definitely a way to achieve holiness. We are sharing these truths to help everyone understand the conditions for getting into the kingdom, so we can all find the path to get there.

The results of Lord Jesus' redemption work

  • You might be wondering,
❓Since the Lord Jesus was crucified for our sins two thousand years ago, why are we still stuck in this cycle of sinning and confessing? Why can't we break free from the bondage of sin?
  • To figure that out, we need to understand exactly what work the Lord Jesus did—and what He didn't do—as well as the background of His work at the time.

  • 🖼️ In the very beginning, God issued laws and commandments to teach people how to live on earth. He told them not to kill, steal, or commit adultery. These laws made it super to people what they should and shouldn’t do. They taught people right from wrong. By issuing these laws, God showed people exactly what sin was. Anyone who broke the laws got punished accordingly—for example, by being stoned to death or burned by fire from heaven.
  • At the same time, God showed mercy. To avoid being condemned by the law, people had to make a sin offering—such as an unblemished ox or sheep. However, because of Satan's corruption, people often couldn't keep the laws. Toward the end of the Age of Law, people were sinning so much that they ran out of sin offerings. And without a sin offering, everyone faced being condemned and put to death by the law. That's when the Lord Jesus personally came to earth and was crucified. He became the sin offering to redeem all of humanity.
  • Let's read two passages of God's words, and it'll all make sense.
✨ “At the time, Jesus’ work was the work to redeem all mankind. The sins of all who believed in Him were forgiven; as long as you believed in Him, He would redeem you; if you believed in Him, you were no longer of sin, you were relieved of your sins. This is what it meant to be saved, and to be justified by faith. Yet in those who believed, there remained that which was rebellious and opposed God, and which still had to be slowly removed. Salvation did not mean man had been completely gained by Jesus, but that man was no longer of sin, that he had been forgiven his sins. Provided you believed, you would never more be of sin”

✨ “For, in the Age of Grace, the demons were cast out from man with the laying on of hands and prayer, but the corrupt dispositions within man still remained. Man was healed of his sickness and forgiven his sins, but as for just how man could cast off the satanic corrupt dispositions within him, this work had yet to be done on him. Man was only saved and forgiven his sins for his faith, but the sinful nature of man was not removed and still remained within him. … The sins of man have been forgiven, and this is because of the work of God’s crucifixion, but man continues to live within his old satanic corrupt dispositions. This being so, man must be completely saved from his satanic corrupt dispositions, his sinful nature must be completely cast off, never to develop again, and his disposition must undergo transformation.”
Question: After the Lord Jesus was crucified and completed the work of redemption, do we still need to offer animals as sin offerings when we sin?
— No, we don't.

  • The Lord Jesus was crucified as the sin offering for all of humanity, redeeming us once and for all. Because of this, we no longer need to make animal offerings anymore. As long as we confess and repent to the Lord, our sins are forgiven. We're no longer condemned or put to death for violating the law. Instead, we're qualified to come before the Lord, pray to Him, and enjoy the peace, joy, and abundant grace He gives us. That's the true meaning of being "saved." 🖼️
📌 The Lord Jesus — the Lamb — the eternal sin offering — forgives our sins
📌 Saved = sins are forgiven = no longer needing to offer sin offerings, no longer condemned by the law
Question: Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus was crucified to forgive our sins. But did He completely remove our sinful nature?
— No. Even today, we're still sinning.
  • From these words, it's clear: the Lord Jesus only did the work of redemption. He didn't do the work of cleansing and transforming us.
  • So, just by believing in the Lord, our sins are forgiven, but our sinful nature hasn't been resolved. This is the root cause of why we constantly sin even after our sins are forgiven.
  • 🖼️ See, being "saved by faith" only means our sins are forgiven and we are no longer condemned or put to death by the law. But it doesn't mean we have stopped sinning, and it certainly doesn't mean our sinful nature has been cleansed.

📌 Saved by faith = Our sins are forgiven only, but sinful nature still remains
  • ⭐⭐ Let me give you an example. Imagine a thief who has a greedy nature and loves to steal. One day, he gets caught. Because his father loves him, he bails him out. But does that guarantee he won't steal again? Of course not. He maybe legally off the hook, but that greedy nature—the urge to steal—is still there. As long as he gets the right opportunity, he'll steal again. Stealing is the sinful behavior, and the greed inside is the sinful nature. The sinful nature is the root of sin, and all sinful behavior stems from it. If the sinful nature isn't uprooted, you can never stop the sinful behavior. It's like cutting grass—how do you stop the grass from growing back? You have to pull out the roots, right? The problem of human sin is exactly the same.
  • If our sins are only forgiven but the root is not removed, we'll just keep on sinning. So, what is this root of sin? It's our satanic nature and Satan's poisons inside us.

Sinful Nature

  • Satan's nature is made up of corrupt dispositions—such as selfishness, arrogance, crookedness and deceitfulness, wickedness and greed, self-righteousness and self-importance.
  • For example, when our own interests or reputation are at stake, we find it hard to follow the Lord's words and be honest. We worry that if we tell the truth, people will look down on us, so we resort to lying. That's the deceitful corrupt nature inside us.
  • Arrogance is another satanic disposition. It drives us to brag, look down on others, and even force others to listen to us.
  • When the Lord Jesus forgives our sins, He spares us from the punishment we deserve. However, our sinful nature remains. As long as our sinful nature isn't resolved, even if the Lord Jesus forgives us a thousand or ten thousand times, we still can't stop sinning. We still can't achieve holiness, and ultimately, we still aren't qualified to enter the kingdom of heaven. That's a hard fact we have to face!
❓Some might ask, "It's true that we still have a sinful nature and can't enter the kingdom of heaven right now. So, how do we get rid of this sinful nature to enter the kingdom of heaven?"
❓ Can we resolve this sinful nature on our own? If we just read the Bible, attend gatherings, and pray more, can we gradually remove our sinful nature?
  • Of course not. For two thousand years, so many devout Christians have read the Bible, attended gatherings, and prayed constantly, but who has actually stopped sinning? Who has broken free from their corrupt dispositions? Not a single one.
📖 Even Paul said: “For to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not” (Romans 7:18)
  • Human nature is full of satanic dispositions. Satan's words have become man's life. In other words, satanic dispositions have become so deeply rooted that they have become our very life. Because of this, no matter how hard we try to restrain ourselves, it's completely useless. Look around—which believer has broken free from the bondage of sin? Aren't we all still caught in the cycle of sinning and confessing, confessing and sinning? We struggle bitterly, and even praying with tears doesn't help us break free from sin.
  • So, to break free from sin and achieve holiness, we don't just need the Lord Jesus to be crucified and take on our sins. We also need Him to personally return to remove the sinful nature inside us. He has to completely cleanse and transform us so we can achieve holiness and be qualified to enter the kingdom of heaven. Just like the Lord Jesus prophesied:
📕 “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12-13)

Why God does the work of judgment in the last days

  • When the Lord returns in the last days, He has to do a new stage of work—the work of judgment. The work of judgment is prophesied over 200 times in the Bible. Let's read a few verses:
📖 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17).

📖 “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son…. And has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man” (John 5:22-27).

📖 “And if any man hears My words, and believes not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and accepts not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47-48).
  • From these verses, we can see that in the last days, the Lord Jesus returns as the Son of man to do the work of judgment. This is to help us completely cast off sin, break free from Satan's influence, and gain complete salvation. So, only by accepting God's work of judgment in the last days can our corruption be cleansed. This is our only path into the kingdom of heaven. 🖼️
📌 Two thousand years ago = the work of redemption = forgiving our sins
📌 The last days = the work of judgment = casting off our sinful nature and cleansing us
✨ “Before man was redeemed, many of Satan’s poisons had already been planted within him and, after thousands of years of being corrupted by Satan, he has within him a nature that resists God. Therefore, when man was redeemed, it was nothing more than a case of redemption. That is, man was bought back at a high price, but the poisonous nature within him was not eliminated. Man that is so filthy must undergo a change before becoming worthy to serve God. By means of this work of judgment and chastisement, man will fully come to know the filthy and corrupt essence within his own self, and he will be able to change completely and become purified. Only in this way can man become worthy to return before the throne of God.”
✨ “Though Jesus came among man and did much work, He only completed the work of redeeming all mankind and served as man’s sin offering; He did not rid man of all his corrupt disposition. Fully saving man from the influence of Satan not only required Jesus to become the sin offering and bear the sins of man, but it also required God to do even greater work to rid man completely of his Satan-corrupted disposition. And so, after man was forgiven of his sins, God returned to the flesh to lead man into the new age, and began the work of chastisement and judgment. This work has brought man into a higher realm. All those who submit under His dominion shall enjoy higher truth and receive greater blessings. They shall truly live in the light, and they shall gain the truth, the way, and the life.”
  • The Lord Jesus did the work of redemption. Through faith in Him, our sins are forgiven, but our sinful nature remains, causing us to sin constantly. So, God has to do a stage of judgment work beginning at the house of God in the last days. This is to let people completely cast off sin and their corrupt dispositions, truly follow God's will, and enter the kingdom of heaven.
  • The work of judgment in the last days isn't about directly condemning humanity. Instead, it's about cleansing and saving all those who truly welcome the Lord's return. So, the fact that judgment begins at the house of God is actually God's love and salvation for us.
  • The work of judgment is our only path to completely break free from the bondage of sin, and our only hope of entering the kingdom of heaven. Once we are cleansed and no longer bound by sin, we're truly free and able to enter God's kingdom. Isn't that a much higher realm? So, God's work of judgment in the last days is actually the most crucial and important stage in His work of saving humanity. It determines whether or not we can enter the kingdom of heaven.
  • If someone misses this critical stage and rejects God's judgment in the last days, they can't be cleansed. All their efforts in following God will be in vain. They won't be qualified to enter the kingdom of heaven, and their faith will be a total failure. That would be a lifelong regret!

Q. Why does the Lord Jesus come to do the work of judgment in the last days?

A. To forgive our sins again.
B. To cast off our sinful nature so we can be cleansed.
C. We don't need judgment; anyone who believes in the Lord can enter the kingdom of heaven.
✅ Correct Answer: B. To cast off our sinful nature so we can be cleansed.
Question: If we only accept the Lord Jesus' redemption, can we enter the kingdom of heaven?

A. No. The Lord Jesus' work only redeemed us from sin, but it didn't cast off our sinful nature. We need God to return and do the work of judgment to cleanse us. Only then do we have a chance to enter the kingdom of heaven.
B. Our sins are forgiven by believing in the Lord Jesus, so we can enter the kingdom of heaven when He returns. We don't need to accept God's work of judgment.
✅ Correct Answer: A. No. The Lord Jesus' work only redeemed us from sin, but it didn't cast off our sinful nature. We need God to return and do the work of judgment to cleanse us. Only then do we have a chance to enter the kingdom of heaven.

How does God do the work of judgment? What does this work achieve?

  • Right now, you might be wondering,
"❓How exactly does God do the work of judgment to cleanse us?"
  • Let's read a few verses, and see if you can find the answer.
📖 “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13)

📖 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)

📖 “Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth” (John 17:17)

📖 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12)

❓From these verses, do you know what God uses in the last days to do the work of judgment and cleanse us?
  • Words / The truth.
  • Exactly. God expresses the truth in the last days, doing the work of judgment with words. God's words are like a sharp, two-edged sword that can pierce right through our hearts and spirits.

Sealed Book

  • Now, someone might ask,
❓"Where is the truth God expresses for His judgment in the last days? Is it the words which have already been recorded in the Bible? Or does God speak new words in the last days?"
  • To answer that, let's look at a prophecy from the Lord Jesus.
📖 The Lord Jesus said: “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13).

  • These "many things" are words the Lord Jesus never spoke before. They're words we've never heard, and they're the words the Lord will express when He returns in the last days. So, could these words have been written down in the Bible ahead of time?
Question: Where can we find the words that the Lord uses for His work of judgment in the last days to cleanse us?

A. The words in the Bible we've been reading.
B. New words outside the Bible that God will express when He returns in the last days.
C. I'm not sure.
✅ Correct Answer: B. New words outside the Bible that God will express when He returns in the last days.
  • Some people might ask, "Is there any other proof that God will speak new words in the last days?" Actually, the Bible talks about a "sealed scroll" many times, pointing to God coming to speak new words in the last days.
📖 “And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
Revelation 5:1–5

📖 “But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
Daniel 12:4

📖 “Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”
Daniel 12:9–10
  • These verses clearly mention a little scroll in the last days. So, what are the key features of this little scroll?
  • 🍎 It's sealed.
    • This little scroll is sealed shut. As it says, “And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon” (Revelation 5:3). No one can open it, and no one has ever read this sealed scroll.
  • 🍎 Only the Lord Jesus can open it.
    • It says “The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David” (Revelation 5:5). That means only the returned Lord Jesus can personally open it.
  • 🍎 It can only be opened in the last days.
    • This book can only be opened in the last days.
  • 👉 So, this little scroll definitely isn't the Bible we read every day, and it's not the Book of Revelation. The Bible has been around for thousands of years, and we can open it and read it every single day. The little scroll, on the other hand, is a new book—a new book that the Lord Jesus will open in the last days.
  • 🍏 Its purpose: Just like the prophecy says, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried” (Daniel 12:10). So, God will use the words in this book to cleanse us.
Question: Is the little scroll the Bible, or is it an entirely new book?

A. The Bible.
B. A new book.
C. I don't know.
✅ Correct Answer: B. A new book.
  • 🖼️ To summarize: the Bible only contains the words God spoke in the past. The scroll the Lord opens when He returns is absolutely not the Bible we read today. The words He expresses when He returns are completely new. They are words God has never spoken before, so naturally, they aren't recorded in the Bible, and they're words no one has ever heard. So, in the last days, the Lord Jesus returns to express new words and open the little scroll to do the work of judgment and cleanse us.

Question: In the last days, does the Lord Jesus come as a spiritual body to express the truth, or does He become flesh a second time to express the truth?

A. He becomes flesh as an ordinary, normal Son of man to express the truth.
B. He comes as a spiritual body.
C. I'm not too sure.
✅ Correct Answer: A. He becomes flesh as an ordinary, normal Son of man to express the truth.
  • Let's read a few more passages and it'll make even more sense.
✨ “The work of judgment is God’s own work, so it must naturally be carried out by God Himself; it cannot be done by man in His stead. Because judgment is the use of the truth to conquer humankind, it is indisputable that God once again appears among man in the incarnate image to perform this work. That is to say, Christ of the last days shall use the truth to teach people across the world and make all truths known to them. This is God’s work of judgment.”
✨ “Christ of the last days uses a variety of truths to teach man, to expose the substance of man, and to dissect the words and deeds of man. These words comprise various truths, such as man’s duty, how man should submit to God, how man should be loyal to God, how man ought to live out normal humanity, as well as the wisdom and the disposition of God. These words are all directed at the substance of man and his corrupt dispositions. In particular, the words that expose how man rejects God are even more so directed at how man is an embodiment of Satan, and an enemy force against God. In undertaking His work of judgment, God does not fully explain the nature of man in a few words; He exposes and prunes over the long term. All these different methods of exposure and pruning cannot be substituted with ordinary words; rather, the truth which man absolutely does not possess is used to carry out this work of exposure and pruning. Only methods such as these can be called judgment; only through judgment of this kind can man be subdued and thoroughly convinced about God, and moreover gain true knowledge of God. What the work of judgment brings about is man’s understanding of the true face of God and the truth about his own rebelliousness. The work of judgment has enabled man to gain much understanding of the intentions of God, of the purpose of God’s work, and of the mysteries that are incomprehensible to him. It has also enabled man to understand and know his corrupt essence and the root of his corruption, as well as to discover his ugly face. These effects are all brought about by the work of judgment, for the essence of this work is actually the work of opening up God’s truth, way, and life to all those who have faith in Him. This work is the work of judgment done by God.”
  • Judgment isn't about digging up the past, and it's not about condemning us all over again for the sins we used to commit. Mainly, judgment is about judging the truth of how Satan has corrupted us. It judges our satanic nature, our satanic essence, and the satanic dispositions inside us. It judges absolutely everything in us that's incompatible with God. At the end of the day, judgment is just here to cleanse us. The whole point is to achieve the result of cleansing—to use judgment to get rid of all those unclean things, like our satanic nature and satanic dispositions.
  • After reading these passages, it's totally clear. God becoming flesh in the last days to do the work of judgment is Him becoming flesh a second time as the Son of man to express the truth and do this work. Every single word of God carries authority, and His words are the truth. Only God can scrutinize our innermost hearts.
  • He uses His words to reveal all our different satanic dispositions and all the wrong thoughts and views Satan has fed us. God's words expose exactly how we live out corrupt dispositions like arrogance, deceit, and wickedness. They hit the nail on the head, exposing our mixed motives for following God, the thoughts deeply hidden in our hearts, and the real motives behind what we do.
  • When we see our filthy, corrupt, and ugly faces completely revealed by God, we feel incredibly ashamed. We want to find a hole to hide in, realizing we really don't deserve to live before God. And it's right then that we truly thirst to understand and gain the truth. So, we start to reflect on ourselves through God's words. We look for the root of our sin and get to know our corrupt dispositions.
  • At the same time, we find the path in God's words to resolve those corrupt dispositions. During this time, God places us in different environments, including trials and refinement, and we have to battle our corrupt dispositions over and over again. When we can rebel against the flesh and practice the truth, our satanic dispositions slowly fall apart and are cast off.
  • Once we understand the truth and can live by God's words and the truth, our life dispositions start to change. Then we actually have hope of ultimately being cleansed by God's words. We can become someone who can basically submit to God and stop opposing Him, and be brought into the kingdom of heaven by God. This whole process is the process of being cleansed by God's words.

  • So you see, the work of judgment definitely isn't some supernatural event that happens in an instant, or in just a day or two like people imagine.
📌 In the last days, God personally becomes flesh on earth and expresses a lot of words to do the work of judgment.
  • He uses words to expose people's corruption and point out the path to cast off their corrupt dispositions. People can truly reflect on and know themselves based on God’s words so they can cast off their corrupt dispositions.
  • Essentially, the process of Son of man expressing the truth is the process of God doing the work of judgment to save people. God expresses the truth and does the work of judgment because corrupt humanity all has a nature that opposes God. Our corrupt disposition is the root of our opposition to God, and it's the hardest thing to resolve. It has to be resolved through the judgment and chastisement of God's words, along with trials and refinement. So, we absolutely have to accept God's work of judgment to truly submit to and worship God, and to be saved.
  • To make this easier to understand, let's use a sick person seeing a doctor as an example. When a patient gets to the hospital, the doctor can't just jump into surgery or hand out pills. First, the doctor has to figure out exactly what's wrong with the patient before knowing how to treat them.
  • God's work of judgment is exactly like that. God expresses the truth to first let us know which of our behaviors are sinful and opposing God—like lying, getting jealous, being arrogant and self-righteous, and so on. Then, He tells us how to resolve these corrupt dispositions, and finally points out how to live out a true human likeness. By reading God's words, little by little, we find the path to cast off sin and get cleansed. The process of God doing the work of judgment is just like a doctor treating a patient.
  • By now, we should understand that the path into the kingdom of heaven is very real and practical. It's not just about having your sins forgiven and then waiting for the Lord to take you up into the air and into the kingdom of heaven. That's just wishful thinking. It's totally unrealistic.
  • If people want to be taken into the kingdom of heaven, the most crucial thing is to accept God's work of judgment in the last days, accept the words God expresses in the last days, and practice God's new words. That's the only way our corrupt dispositions can be cleansed so we can become people who follow God's will. And only then are we qualified to inherit God's promises and blessings and be brought into God's kingdom.
Summary:
📌Enter the kingdom of heaven
            ⬇️
📌People must be holy
            ⬇️
📌Cast off sinful nature, be cleansed
            ⬇️
📌Accept the work of judgment
            ⬇️
📌Accept the new words in the sealed book

5. The work of judgment includes two aspects:

  • Now, some might ask, "For those who accept the judgment of God's words, God uses the truth to judge and cleanse them. But what about those who don't accept it? How does God judge them?"
❓ In other words, for nonbelievers, or those who only believe in the Lord Jesus but reject His second incarnation—people who only cling to the Bible but reject the new words God expresses in the last days—how does God judge them?
  • Let's look at a passage.
✨ “One aspect of God’s work is to conquer all mankind and gain the chosen people through His words; another is to conquer all sons of rebellion by way of various disasters. This is one part of the large-scale work of God. Only in this way can the kingdom on earth that God wants be fully achieved, and this is the part of His work that is pure gold.”
✨ “All manner of disasters will befall, one after another; all countries and places will experience disasters: Plague, famine, flood, drought, and earthquakes are everywhere. These disasters are not just happening in one or two places, nor will they be over within a day or two; rather, they will expand across a greater and greater area, and become more and more severe. During this time, all manner of insect plagues will arise one after another, and the phenomenon of cannibalism will occur everywhere. This is My judgment upon the myriad countries and peoples.”

  • So, judgment falls into two types: 🖼️
📌 Believers (God's chosen people) — judged by new words — cleansed and saved
📌 Nonbelievers and false believers (those who oppose God) — judged by disasters — punished
  • So God's work is done in steps and stages. It's not carried out in one go.
📌 First stage: God becomes flesh again to do the judgment work beginning at the house of God. He expresses the truth to cleanse, and perfects a group of overcomers — salvation
📌 Second stage: The Lord appears openly on a cloud — the work of judgment is finished — rewards the good and punishes the wicked
  • Judgment is a double-edged sword. The judgment by words and the judgment by disasters happen at the same time. God does the judgment by words mainly to cleanse those who can accept His work of judgment in the last days. Through the judgment of words, He achieves the result of cleansing and saving a group of people.
  • At the same time, those who clearly know the Bible has so many prophecies about God doing the work of judgment in the last days, but reject it—they're the targets of God's condemnation and elimination. They'll all be left in the judgment of disasters to be destroyed. God's work of judgment is about cleansing and saving people. It's also the work of sorting people according to their kind. It's not about directly condemning and destroying people. The work of rewarding the good and punishing the wicked happens after the work of judgment.
  • During the time God is working in the flesh again, He comes to express the truth to cleanse and save a group of people. Those who truly believe in God and love the truth will be made into firstfruits by God—meaning the overcomers. They'll completely break free from their corrupt dispositions, be cleansed, achieve salvation, and be qualified to enter God's kingdom.
  • But, when God becomes flesh on earth to express the truth to judge and cleanse people, if we don't accept it, it'll be too late when we see the Lord coming on a cloud. That's when the work of judgment is over, the work of salvation is wrapping up, and it's time for God to reward the good and punish the wicked. By then, even if we're filled with gut-wrenching regret, God isn't going to redo the work of judgment for us. All that awaits us are disasters and punishment.
  • So, the work of judgment is directly tied to everyone's final destination. It's a critical issue that decides whether a believer can get into the kingdom of heaven. If people don't accept the work of judgment and cleansing through God's words in the last days, and just treat it based on their own notions and imaginings, they'll forever lose the chance to be cleansed by God and enter the kingdom of heaven. It'll be an eternal regret and eternal pain. This is exactly how God ends this age: He saves a group of people who love the truth and can accept the truth, and at the same time, He condemns and destroys those who oppose the truth. That's the work of judgment.

Consequences of not accepting the judgment work

  • Now that we're on this topic, I want to ask brothers and sisters a question:
❓If a pastor says, "We've already been saved by faith. The Lord Jesus' blood has washed away our sins. As long as we read the Bible often and pray every day, we can get into the kingdom of heaven. We believers don't need the Lord to do judgment work in the last days to cleanse and save us. Just reading the Bible is enough. We don't need God to express new words in the last days to cleanse us." Do you agree with that?
  • No, I don't agree.
  • Today, many people in the religious world say there's no way God will do the work of judgment in the last days. They're just waiting for the Lord Jesus to come on a cloud and take them up into the kingdom of heaven. But is that view right? Did the Lord Jesus ever say we could get into the kingdom of heaven just by being saved by faith? No. God doing the work of judgment in the last days is totally backed up by biblical prophecy.
The Bible clearly prophesies: 📖 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17).
  • Some pastors clearly know that the Bible prophesies God doing the work of judgment in the last days, yet they still deny and reject it. Do they really believe the Bible? In our faith, we can't just blindly trust what people say. We have to base everything on the Lord Jesus' words. If what people tell us doesn't match up with the Lord Jesus' words, we shouldn't listen to it. For those who don't listen to God's words, but just blindly follow and listen to people—who lack discernment and actually agree that they don't need to accept the judgment of God's words to get into the kingdom of heaven—all that awaits them are endless disasters and eternal perdition.

  • We can see the work of judgment is the most crucial stage in God's work of saving humanity. Only by accepting God's work of judgment in the last days can people be made into overcomers before the disasters, and actually have a part in the kingdom of heaven. Only by accepting and experiencing the judgment and chastisement of God's words can we get to know our corrupt essence and satanic dispositions. We can come to know God's righteous and holy disposition, gradually understand and gain the truth, and have our satanic dispositions cleansed. This is the only path for people to be saved and enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • If someone rejects God's work of judgment in the last days, they'll never gain the truth or break free from the bondage of sin. Their corrupt dispositions won't be cleansed, and they can still rebel against, oppose, deny, and betray God. They just won't be qualified to enter the kingdom of heaven. Even if they believe in the Lord their whole life, gone through many sufferings, and pay a massive price, they still won't get the Lord's approval. Instead, the Lord will condemn them as evildoers.
Just as the Lord Jesus said: 📖 “Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and in Your name have cast out devils, and in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:22-23).
  • Finally, let's look at one last passage:

✨ “The work of judgment is God’s own work, so it must naturally be carried out by God Himself; it cannot be done by man in His stead. Because judgment is the use of the truth to conquer humankind, it is indisputable that God once again appears among man in the incarnate image to perform this work. That is to say, Christ of the last days shall use the truth to teach people across the world and make all truths known to them. This is God’s work of judgment. Many feel uncomfortable regarding the second incarnation of God, for people find it difficult to believe that God would become flesh to do the work of judgment. Nevertheless, I must tell you that the work of God often goes far beyond the expectations of man, and is difficult for human minds to accept. For people are but maggots upon the earth, while God is the supreme One who fills the universe; the mind of man is like a pit of foul water that breeds only maggots, whereas each stage of the work directed by the thoughts of God is the distillation of God’s wisdom. People are always trying to contend with God, to which I say it is self-evident who will lose out in the end. I exhort you all not to think yourselves more valuable than gold. If others can accept the judgment of God, why can’t you? How much higher do you stand above others? If others can bow their heads before the truth, why can’t you, too? God’s work is inexorable. He will not repeat the work of judgment again just because of the ‘contribution’ you have made, and you will be overcome with regret at letting such a good opportunity slip by. If you do not believe My words, then just wait for that great white throne in the sky to pass judgment upon you! You must know that all of the Israelites rejected and denied Jesus, and yet the fact of Jesus’ redemption of mankind still extended throughout the universe and to the ends of the earth. Isn’t this a fact that God accomplished long ago? If you are still waiting for Jesus to take you up to heaven, then I say that you are an obstinate piece of deadwood. Jesus will not acknowledge a false believer such as you, who is disloyal to the truth and seeks only blessings. On the contrary, He will show no mercy in casting you into the lake of fire to burn for tens of thousands of years.”
